Swift install at Ricci Lumber

The Swift Wind Turbine is specifically designed for building and neighborhood installs.  Normally the tips of a wind turbine blade generate most of the noise. The Swift turbine has a band around the blades which cuts the turbulence and the noise. It also cuts down vibration that would prohibit building mounting. Like any other turbine, it has a minimum start speed and requires a good stiff breeze to generate power. When considering any wind turbine, we at SEA recommend a wind study. Three to six months minimum and as much as a year is the best way to determine if your site is a good wind turbine location. Without real data it is very difficult to calculate payoff on a turbine.

There are circumstances that suggest a building can be a positive wind location. Depending on the normal wind direction and the shape of the roof there can actually be some acceleration very much like the way an airplane wing functions. The Ricci Lumber building has some of these characteristics.
